A New Chapter for Dog Breeder Education in Australia

For the past two years, the Australian Dog Breeders Conference (ADBC) brought together breeders from across Australia to learn, connect and share knowledge. Built by a passionate volunteer team, the conference created a valuable space for ethical breeders to access education, hear from industry experts and strengthen relationships across the breeding community.

What started as a grassroots volunteer initiative quickly grew into one of Australia's most recognised breeder education events.

Across its first two conferences, the event welcomed more than 175 attendees, achieved 192% growth in attendance, maintained an average 4.7 out of 5 attendee satisfaction rating, attracted breeders from five Australian states, and saw 90% of delegates come from registered breeding organisations. These results reflect both the growing demand for quality breeder education and the dedication of the volunteer team behind the conference.

As priorities have evolved, the volunteer team has chosen to focus its ongoing volunteer efforts on Groodle breed development and education. As a result, the Australian Dog Breeders Conference will not be continuing into future years.

While the Australian Dog Breeders Conference has reached the end of its journey, the passion for advancing ethical dog breeder education certainly hasn't.

The team responsible for creating and building the Australian Dog Breeders Conference has since established TriPaw Pty Ltd - a completely separate and independent company with its own leadership, vision and long-term objectives. TriPaw is not affiliated with, nor a continuation of, the Australian Dog Breeders Conference. Instead, it has been created to deliver a much broader range of initiatives that support ethical dog breeders across Australia.

One of TriPaw's flagship initiatives is BreedaCon.

Positioned as Australia's Leading Dog Breeders Conference, BreedaCon is far more than an annual conference. It forms part of a long-term national vision to unite breeders through world-class education, networking opportunities, professional development, collaborative industry initiatives and innovative experiences that strengthen ethical dog breeding throughout Australia.

While BreedaCon includes an annual national conference, its vision extends well beyond a single event. TriPaw is committed to developing additional educational experiences, workshops, networking events, industry collaborations, digital resources and breeder initiatives designed to support breeders throughout the year and continue raising standards across the Australian dog breeding community.

The inaugural BreedaCon conference will be held from 30 April to 2 May 2027 at Mantra on View, Surfers Paradise, Queensland, bringing together respected veterinarians, researchers, industry professionals and experienced breeders from across Australia for three days of education, collaboration and connection.

The team is incredibly proud of what was achieved through the Australian Dog Breeders Conference and remains grateful to every attendee, speaker, sponsor and volunteer who helped make those events possible.

Now, through TriPaw and BreedaCon, that experience is being channelled into an even bigger vision... one that extends beyond a conference to create lasting opportunities for education, collaboration and innovation. With a national focus and a commitment to supporting breeders from every breed, organisation and background, TriPaw is excited to help shape the future of ethical dog breeding in Australia for many years to come.
