Jane Messineo of Puppy Culture Is Coming to Australia – And We Couldn't Be More Excited!

Every now and then, someone comes along who doesn't just contribute to the dog world - they changes the way an entire generation thinks.

For dog breeders across the globe, Jane Messineo Lindquist is one of those people.

We're absolutely thrilled to announce that Jane, the creator of Puppy Culture, founder of Madcap University and Madcap Radio, professional dog trainer, long-time Bull Terrier breeder and AKC judge, will be travelling to Australia to speak at BreedaCon 2027.

Remarkably, this is only the second time in history that Jane has visited Australia to share her knowledge with breeders. For those of us who have followed her work over the years, this is genuinely one of those "pinch me" moments.

Long before early neurological stimulation, puppy enrichment and structured socialisation became everyday conversations among ethical breeders, Jane was asking a simple question:

"What if we could prevent behavioural problems instead of trying to fix them later?"

Drawing on more than four decades of experience as a breeder, trainer and competitor, Jane recognised something many people were missing - so many adult behaviour problems actually begin during the first few weeks of a puppy's life.

Many people first discovered Jane through Puppy Culture, but that's only part of her story.

She has bred and exhibited Bull Terriers under the Madcap Kennel name since 1998, owned Bull Terriers since 1982, and together with her husband Mark has earned more than 100 titles across conformation, agility, rally, tracking, nose work, barn hunt and other dog sports. She is also an AKC Judge and an AKC Breeder of Merit.

The book has sold more than 70,000 copies worldwide and remains one of the most recommended resources for positive, relationship-based training.
